911 GT2 RS

Porsche 911 GT2 RS has an astonishing 620 bhp and only weighs 1370 kilo’s that’s 70 less than the GT2 with 90 more bhp and will make its first appearance to the world at the Moscow Motor Show in August.

With 500 cars going into production the “GT2 RS” will be available in Europe from September 2010, the United States from October 2010.

The six-cylinder, 3.6-liter boxer engine has a twin turbo and variable turbine geometry giving a top speed of 205 miles per hour (330 kph) and equally face bending acceleration times… 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, 0 to 200 km / h in just 9.8 seconds and 0 to 300 km / h in 28.9 seconds.

Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM), from anti-roll bars, engine mounts and the Porsche Stability Management (PSM). Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), wider front arches, carbon fiber front lip and rear spoiler, material carbon fiber reinforced racing synthetic seats with and carbon fiber finish to the door panels.

911 GT3 RS

At the 2010 Geneva Auto Show Porsche showed what seemed to be a little more than just a concept car with a beautiful new supercar that has all the qualities but with an added value of a ‘claimed’ 78 mpg!

The Porsche 918 Spyder has a mid mounted v8 with an impressive 500 bhp, a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox helping to give the 918 a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds and onto a top speed of nearly 200 mph. Let’s hope this does go into a limited production and the technology feed down through the rest of the Porsche range and soon were able to have a 100 mile to the gallon Porsche 911.

first publically seen at the German Motor show in 1983 and was known as the “Gruppe B Prototype”, the road version of the 959 made its appearance two years later at the 1985 German Motor show and didn’t go into full production until a further year later and the first customer took delivery in ‘87 came in two variants, the race version was called Sport and the road version was called Komfort and went on sale for $225,000 only 337 cars were made until production ceased in 1988 although 8 were later made in the early nineties when Porsche had a clean out of old parts half were made in Silver the other half in red and these have become the 959’s to have.

The 2850cc, twin-turbo 6 cylinder boxer engine had water-cooled heads with an air cooled block pushing out around 444 bhp, To reduce Turbo Lag Porsche fitted sequential turbo’s that gave a progressive delivery of power and combined with a weight saving aluminium and Aramid composite body producing a very powerful and fast supercar hitting 62mph in just 3.7 secs and a standing Kilometre in 21.6 Seconds (back in the Eighties!)
To make it drivable Porsche added a "zero lift" aerodynamics package and an advanced 4 wheel drive system capable of distributing torque (PSK)
Due to Department of Transport rules the 959 was not available in the US until 1999 as it required a certain number to be available for “crash testing” and Porsche just wasn’t prepared to do that, and personally I don’t blame them.

The 2500cc flat six roadster was introduced in the last quarter of 1996, it takes its inspiration from the 550 spyder the designed was by Harm Lagaay, It takes its name from the horizontally-opposed boxer engine, and it being a convertible roadster.

“The design of the Boxster models is governed by one philosophy above all: that the styling of a Porsche reflects its inner values. Here, the primary value is extreme performance.
The emphasis on performance is immediately evident from the front, where enlarged air intakes in a geometric arrangement give the Boxster an even more dynamic look – and increase cooling power. On the Boxster, the air intake grilles are finished in the exterior colour, whereas on the Boxster S they are contrasted in black. The powerful design is complemented by striking spoiler lips and the two models have a drag coefficient value of 0.29 and 0.30, respectively.

At the front, the headlight design makes the Boxster models unmistakable – especially at night. Both models are fitted as standard with halogen headlights and LED daytime running lights integrated separately into the clusters above the outer air intakes. Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights, including LED daytime running lights, are available on request. The headlight design emphasises the striking contour of the wing.
The rear has been restyled with a LED taillight module that blends harmoniously with the overall design. The centrally located stainless steel tailpipe – twin tailpipe on the Boxster S – and the rear diffusers finished in sporting black complete the powerful look.
The dynamic presence of the Boxster models is further emphasised by the wheel design. The Boxster is fitted with 17-inch wheels as standard, the Boxster S with 18-inch wheels. A 19-inch option is available for both models.
Also incorporated into the design are larger exterior mirrors which have been aerodynamically optimised and give better rearward visibility.”

Cayenne GTS
The 405 hp, 4.8 liter V8 has 21-inch Rims, body kit, sport suspension and optional six-speed manual, It is lighter than the Cayenne S hits 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds. The Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 (2010) is a limited edition based on GTS influenced by Porsche Design Studio. It includes Lava Grey Metallic body, 21-inch SportPlus wheels, black leather upholstery with red contrasting seams, Porsche Design Chronograph.

Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S
The 1st generation Cayenne Turbo had 450 horsepower and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. The Cayenne Turbo S included a low-range case, a locking differential, and the height-adjustable, off-road suspension also standard on the regular Turbo model. It was powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 that produced 520 bhp Acceleration from 0-60 mph was 5.0 seconds and the top speed was 171 mph.

Porsche Cayenne

A new Turbo was revealed at the 2008 Beijing show. With an increase of 50hp and now accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Also revealed with the new Turbo was a new 550 hp Turbo S. Acceleration from 0-60 mph is 4.7 seconds and has optional ceramic composite brakes.

Porsche 911 GT3-R

Designed to FIA GT3 regulations, the GT3 R is intended, as Porsche coyly puts it, to be "appropriate for the ambitious amateur racing driver rather than purely experienced professionals".

The stripped out racer after all has to have some tech and the rear-engined 480bhp "R" has traction control, anti-lock brakes, automatic throttle blip function to make the downshifts extra special.

The GT3 R is based on the 911 GT3 Cup used for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup one-make series, but has an engine enlarged from 3800cc to 4000cc.

Porsche announced its plans for the GT3 R back in November and, despite a base price of $400,000 plus taxes and Vat, there's been plenty of interest.

"Since we announced our intention to launch the 911 GT3 R, demand has been huge," says Uwe Brettel, head of motorsport sales. "The number of GT3 R vehicles we had planned for 2010 is almost sold out."

2010 GT3

The 2010 GT3 brings some significant changes over the previous GT3, but no direct injection  found on most other new Porsche models.

The powerplant in the 911 GT3 is up .2 litres to 3.8 litres, and produces 435 bhp, a jump of 20 horses over the outgoing model.

This motor amounts to a naturally aspirated and modified version of the powerplant in the 911 Turbo and GT2, distinct from the boxers now found in other current 911 models.

Now included for the first time is the Porsche Stability Management, which can be completely disabled in the hands of a professional driver but will probably save many a driver with the chips for a 2009 911 GT3 without necessarily carrying the skills to take a rear-engined supercar to its limits.

Stability and traction control systems can also be disabled seperately, giving a discerning driver the ability to only employ the nannies he or she needs for a specific situation.

The low-slung front end, featuring a slew of minor changes to the lip spoiler and lower dams, will lift upon driver command by a full inch for use on bad roads or over bumps.

In the rear, the 911 GT3 gets new air outlets tastefully integrated into the rear splitter. The rear spoiler is new as well, as are the dual outlet center-mounted exhaust tips similar to those on the new Cayman.

The 2010 GT3 is perhaps the most pure of Porsches on the road. Release date in the States is this October at a price of $112,200. A relative bargain when considering the competition!
